Charitable funds

South Devon Healthcare Charitable Fund is a Registered Charity 1052232, established to benefit patients of Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust.

Donations are received from individuals and organisations and are independent of the monies provided by the Government. These charitable donations, no matter how big or small, are gratefully received and are a very important source of funds for us. They have produced great benefits for patients including:

  • Medical and other equipment to support patient care, diagnosis and research.
  • Refurbishment of ward and other areas to create a better environment and generally enhance patient care.
  • Those extra comforts for patients not permitted from other sources such as televisions, trips, holidays, recreational facilities and other entertainments.
  • Books, training and education for staff to continually enhance care and effectiveness.

Most wards and departments have their own individual funds within the South Devon Healthcare Charitable Fund.

If you would like to make a donation – either to general charitable funds or to a particular ward or department – all you have to do is fill in the Charitable Funds Donation form and send with your cheque made payable to South Devon Healthcare to the following address:

Alternatively, it can be handed in to the Ward or Department Sister, or to the Cashier’s Office, Level 2 at Torbay Hospital.

All donations received are acknowledged in writing and a receipt issued.
