Having cancer can be a time of great emotional stress and strain. Sometimes these emotions can become problematic or can get in the way of life. Where this is the case, psychological therapy may be useful. Therapy aims to help people better understand difficulties and to learn new ways to manage them.
The psychology service is a part of the cancer support team and works closely with the nursing and medical teams. As well as providing therapy, we also offer; supervision and training to the cancer support team and aim to influence policies and practice that improve psychological care.
