Torbay Hospital’s Patient Transport team has raised £2,466.21 for the Torbay Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) by taking part in a three day cycle ride from Torquay to Land’s End.

Last year, a team of six men from the Patient Transport Department set out on their 126 mile ride, starting at Torbay Hospital. This is one of the many charity rides the department has completed in aid of local health services.

The CAMHS service, run by Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust, provides therapeutic services for children and young people with all aspects of mild, moderate and severe mental health problems.

Corinne Foy, Torbay CAMHS Service Manager, said: “On behalf of Torbay CAMHS and our service users, I would like to say a huge thank you to the Patient Transport team for this generous donation. The money raised will be used to improve the therapeutic rooms used by children and young people and provide additional resources to support the clinical work.”
