Advice for our volunteers and COVID-19

Published: 20 March 2020

Following national guidance, we are advising all volunteers who are aged over 70 or who have a condition that puts them at risk to cease their volunteering immediately.

If you live with or support someone who is at risk, we completely understand that you may also wish to take a break from volunteering at this time, or might prefer to volunteer in a different setting, please do not feel that you are letting us down.

We know that some people want to continue to volunteer in our hospitals, so the Trust is in the process of evaluating which Hospital-based Volunteer roles are still required and whether there are new volunteering roles that need to be undertaken. We are also working closely with our voluntary sector partners to support people in their own homes. Please contact the Volunteer Services on 01803 210519/8 or email Volunteer Services for further information.
