Directing offers of help

Published: 9 April 2020

our local communities have been really keen to support us in any way that they can during these challenging times. We have been overwhelmed by the love, support, and gratitude and we cannot thank you enough! It’s helped enormously to keep our morale as high as possible!

We are now in a position where we can support all offers of help in a much more coordinated way. This means that, for example, we will now be centrally handling all the wonderful donations to ensure that they are delivered safely and that we can distribute them out to our staff, fairly.

We also now have a JustGiving page and, in the 48 hours that it’s been live, our local communities have already donated over £5,000 for our staff to say ‘thank you’! The comments are incredible and go a little way to show our colleagues all just how appreciated they are at this time, and always.

We have the information below so that you can easily see where we need to direct offers of help. We are aware that a lot of you are asking questions about:

  • Offering accommodation for staff
  • How people can donate PPE
  • How people can donate other items
  • How people can volunteer
  • How people can work for us
  • How people can donate to us via JustGiving
Accommodation for our staff

Calling all local hotels, B&Bs and Guest Houses.

Is your premises currently closed due to the COVID-19 situation? If so, could you support local NHS staff by offering them a safe and restful place to stay in between shifts?

If you would like to find out more, please email and register with CTM via

A huge thank you to everyone who has so far donated goods, services, time and money to us! We’ve been blown away by your incredible support at such a challenging time!

However, we now need to ensure that all donations are handled and distributed safely – and fairly!

We would ask that you please do not deliver any donations to our hospitals or our community sites without prior agreement from the Trust.

If you wish to donate something to our hardworking staff, please email details of what you would like to donate to the Donations Team and a time, date and location will be agreed with you for the donations to be made – safely.

Please note: Due to food safety requirements, we are only able to accept food donations from professional catering and food establishments. The safety of our staff is our top priority and we hope you can understand this decision.

Our incredible staff – who are based across Torbay and South Devon – are working around the clock, caring for patients during the current COVID-19 pandemic. We have had some fantastic support during this time and people have asked us how they can donate.

We have set up a JustGiving page where, if you would like, you can make donations (no matter how big or small) to support us and our vital work during these unprecedented times! Your donation will be gratefully received and will help towards supporting the great work that our staff are doing for all of us.
