How do I apply to be a volunteer?

You can telephone, write to or email the Volunteer Services at:

Volunteer Services

Nicholson Road

Telephone: 01803 210519
Email: Volunteer Services

Please leave your contact details so that we can send you some information and contact you for an informal discussion. If you then decide to go ahead, we will send you an application form to complete, including providing two referees. Once we have received your application form we will arrange for you to attend an interview with the Volunteer Co-ordinator and the Volunteer Manager for your chosen role.

If you are successful at your interview, you will be asked to complete a Volunteer Agreement, Confidentiality Statement, Health Declaration form and, in most cases, supply information and personal identification documents so that we can request a Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS).

When all the checks have been completed and are satisfactory, you will be asked to attend Trust Induction, and any role-specific training. You will then be able to start your voluntary role for a trial period of one month/4 sessions. This will help you decide if this is the right placement for you and if not, we’ll investigate other options. It is also an opportunity for us to give you some feedback on how we feel you are settling in.

* Please note we do not arrange work experience or medical placements. For more information, please see our work experience page.
