The core business of CAMHS is the specialist assessment and treatment of mental health difficulties and associated risk in children and young people between the ages of 0 and 18.
The service comprises of a Primary Mental Health Service (PMHW) where practitioners provide dedicated support to school clusters and designated GP’s. The PMHW Service also provides consultation, training and short term therapeutic interventions to children, young people and their families, who have mild to moderate mental health difficulty.
The complex case team provides assessment and therapeutic interventions to children and young people with moderate to severe mental health difficulties. The complex case team also provides consultation and training to professionals. The child or young person must be registered with a Torbay GP.
