Diabetes Services

The Torbay Hospital Diabetes Unit offers a full range of specialist diabetes services for the South Devon Area.

Diabetes is a common condition associated with raised blood glucose. There are currently over 13,000 people diagnosed with diabetes (including type 1 and type 2 diabetes) in the South Devon area. There are over 2.3 million people with diabetes in the UK and more than half a million people with diabetes who have the condition and don’t know it. This represents an important health problem as diabetes can lead to serious health complications if not adequately treated.

Our multidisciplinary healthcare team works in close collaboration with local primary care providers to provide an integrated diabetes service for the whole community.
