Safeguarding Adults
Safeguarding means protecting people’s health, well-being, human rights, and enabling everyone to live free from harm, abuse and neglect. Its fundamental to high quality health and social care.
We have specific duties to safeguard adults from exploitation, abuse or neglect both as an NHS provider and within our delegated adult social care responsibilities for Torbay.
Within all our services we adopt a zero tolerance to exploitation and adult abuse and actively work to ensure that people who use our services live their lives free from exploitation, violence or abuse or the fear of exploitation, violence or abuse.
We also work in a multi-agency context to protect people with care and support needs who are experiencing or at risk of exploitation, abuse or neglect.
Information on how to report your concern is on our Torbay and Devon Safeguarding Adults Partnership website.
If you feel someone is in immediate danger or there is an emergency situation, please call 999.
