Two firms to honour our people at annual awards

The achievements of hundreds of caring NHS staff from Torbay and South Devon will be celebrated at an awards ceremony next year thanks to the support of Kier Construction Western and Wales, and Nevada Construction.

The two construction companies have been announced as the first two sponsors of Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust’s Our People Awards 2024, which celebrates the achievements of its staff who have gone above and beyond to provide compassionate care, supported their colleagues, or improved services.

Doug Lloyd, regional director of Kier Construction Western and Wales said: “We’re proud to be sponsoring the 2024 Our People Awards, which recognise the outstanding care provided by NHS staff across Torbay and South Devon. There are so many unsung heroes who provide support, care and kindness to people in need in our local community and awards such as these are so important.

“Kier has a strong presence in Torbay and we’re proud of the work we do in the local community. Many of our local colleagues and their families will have benefited from the support of NHS staff, and we’re pleased to support an initiative which recognises their incredible work.”

Nevada Construction director Bob Tranckle said: “Nevada Construction is honoured to be platinum sponsors for the Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust’s Our People Awards 2024. Our partnership with Torbay Hospital is a source of great pride for us, and we are committed to supporting this celebration of its dedicated staff. Torbay Hospital not only marks a personal connection for us, being the workplace of our mother’s career and where our children were born, but it also holds an important role in our company’s values and in local community.”

Next year’s annual event will take place on 23 May at the Riviera Centre in Torquay and anyone who has received an Our People Award or another award or recognition during the past 12 months is invited to attend.

Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust’s chief executive Liz Davenport said: “We are so proud of our staff who are delivering compassionate care to people in Torbay and South Devon. Our annual awards event is our opportunity to say thank you to them and to let them know how proud we are of them and value everything they do, but we couldn’t host an event without the generous donations of our sponsors. I am so grateful to Nevada Construction and Kier Construction Western and Wales for publicly supporting our people and generously sponsoring next year’s event. Thank you so much.”
