MY CARE and the NHS App are now linked

Published: 9 July 2026
Patients can now use their NHS App login to access MY CARE with a new secure link between the two online services.
MY CARE is the online service that allows patients to see detailed information about their hospital and specialist community care using a mobile device or computer. The NHS App gives you information about your GP care, repeat prescriptions, vaccinations and NHS 111 online.
The new developments are linking these two systems, so that it’s easier for patients to keep track of their care. There are two ways that patients can do this:
- Patients can log in to MY CARE by using their NHS App login details. They can go to the MY CARE log in page and then select ‘Continue to NHS login’.
- Patients can click on their hospital and specialist community care appointments* in the NHS App to transfer to MY CARE and get more detailed information. Patients will be asked to give consent for their NHS login details to be shared with the MY CARE team to log in to or set up a MY CARE account.
Thanks to the Devon-wide electronic patient record that has been introduced this year, these new developments will also apply to patients attending appointments at Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. Patients attending appointments at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust will benefit from the new features when they join the electronic patient record later this month.
A common request from patients has been to integrate MY CARE with the NHS app. The MY CARE team has worked with software provider Epic and NHS England to find a secure way to join up the two systems, making it simpler for patients.
*Please note, most appointments will be available in the NHS App, but some may not be visible. Please consult MY CARE for a full view of your upcoming appointments.
