NHS Nightingale Hospital Exeter

The NHS Nightingale Hospital Exeter is run by Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. It helps local people and reduces waiting times by providing a safe place for non-urgent, planned care.

What services are at the hospital?

  • Centre of Excellence for Eyes – delivering diagnostic outpatient services and cataract surgery
  • Devon Diagnostic Centre – scans and tests, including CT, MRI, X-ray, ultrasound and fluoroscopy.
  • Southwest Ambulatory Orthopaedic Centre – two operating theatres for day case and short stay elective orthopaedic procedures, and is a GIRFT-accredited surgical hub
  • Buttercup Outpatient Unit – provides a range of different services including diagnostic tests and one stop clinics
  • The Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust’s Rheumatology department – care for joint and muscle conditions. These services were previously at the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital.

People in Torbay and South Devon may be offered:

  • Orthopaedic operations
  • Eye tests and checks, for example for glaucoma
