Breast screening

Breast screening is offered to women aged 50 to 70 years, every three years and looks for evidence of early breast cancer which is too small to see or feel. The videos on this page will provide you with details about the programme, how you can prepare to attend your screening session and what happens if you are recalled for further assessment.

Please note that some of the videos in this series include images of naked breasts. These are only included to aid the understanding of the procedures being discussed. If you are likely to be offended or believe it to be inappropriate, please do not play the videos.

If you have any questions, the main Breast Care page will provide you with more details about contacting us.
