Patients with suspected cancer can be seen in speciality clinics within 2 weeks of the GP making a referral.
The Cancer Support Team aims to complement treatment by promoting physical, social, psychological and spiritual wellbeing, to enhance and maximise quality of life. This may include giving information, symptom control, welfare advice or emotional and spiritual guidance. The team’s support is available to anyone diagnosed with cancer, during and after treatment, and is not limited to Palliative Care.
The Trust offers a specialist Palliative Care Service.
In the hospital
The Torbay Hospital Specialist Palliative Care Team works as a consultative service within the hospital. Patients are seen at any stage of their illness and irrespective of diagnosis.
