Who are we?
Growth in Action (GIA) is an alliance between:
- Torbay Recovery Initiatives or “TRI” – Drug and alcohol service
- Torbay Domestic Abuse Service or “TDAS” – Domestic abuse service
- Leonard Stocks Centre or “LSC” – Homelessness hostel
- Influenced by current past and future service users
- Those who are passionate about making a positive impact in Torbay
Why do it differently?
- Current systems are difficult to navigate
- Too many people involved in someone’s care / road to recovery
- Many different referrals
- Reduce stigma
- Services are currently designed by the wrong people
- People having to tell their story multiple times
- To make us future proof and more cost effective with reduced government funds in times of crisis
