Youth Forum

We are inviting young people aged 13-20 in Torbay and South Devon who have used our services to become involved in our first ever Youth Forum.

By becoming a member of our Youth Forum young people will have an opportunity to help shape the way in which our services for children and young people are delivered and share their thoughts and ideas.

What is our Youth Forum?

A way for young people (aged 13-20) in Torbay and South Devon to share their thoughts and experiences on key issues with Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust
A way to share what matters to you and have your say on various topics, working together with your local NHS trust and Young Devon to make change happen
A way to share what can be done to better support young people’s health and wellbeing locally

Opportunities to influence decision making within your local NHS trust and see things change as a result of your feedback, ideas and opinions

Youth Forum meetings

These will take place on Saturdays and will be a mix of face to face meetings (at the Horzion Centre, Torbay Hospital) and online. Lunch will be provided for face to face meetings and travel expenses (bus or train) will be reimbursed.
The first meeting will take place on 20 April 2024. Following this the meeting schedule is 18 May, 6 July, 28 September, 9 November, 7 December, 18 January, 8 March.

We provide a wide range of services for children and young people including:

Community child health clinics and outpatient services
Paediatric outpatient clinics
Childrens specialist community team
Child development centre (based in the John Parkes Unit)
Paediatric inpatient care (Louisa Cary Ward, Torbay Hospital)
Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (delivered through Children and Family Health Devon)
Paediatric emergency department (based at Torbay Hospital)
Short stay paediatric assessment unit (based at Torbay Hospital)
